President
Vicki was formerly managing director of business development at the Greater Rochester Enterprise in Rochester, New York. Prior to that, she served as the president of Regional Economic Development Inc. in Columbia, Missouri – and at the same time was director of the Department of Economic Development for the City of Columbia from 2000 – 2003. From 1993 – 2000 she was the executive director of the County of Orleans Industrial Development Agency in Albion, New York. Vicki earned her Certified Economic Developer designation from the International Economic Development Council in 2004. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo in interpersonal and organizational communications. She also completed all coursework toward her master’s degree in community and rural development from Cornell University, and in administrative leadership in adult education from the University of Wisconsin.

Beth provides administrative support for the president, Steering Council, Wichita Manufacturers Association and GWEDC team.
Duane Smith, CCR

Director, Research
Duane leads GWEDC research department and performs directed research and analysis in support of economic development community marketing and prospect recruitment program. Duane graduated from Wichita State with a Bachelor in Business Administration, major in Aviation Management and minor in Economics.
Debra Teufel

Managing Director, Business Development
Debra manages business expansion and business recruitment opportunities for GWEDC. She has 9 years of economic development experience throughout south-central Kansas. Teufel has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Southwestern College and is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma’s Economic Development Institute. She serves on the board of the Workforce Alliance of South Central Kansas and has served as a member of the Composites Kansas WIRED Initiative.
